Kate

Kate is a first year at the University of the Witwatersrand who has been tutoring math and English since high school. She also teaches Mandarin to beginner and intermediate students to help students prepare for the HSK exam or simply explore a new language and culture. In high school, she was part of both the AP Math and AP English programs, and placed in the top 20 nationally out of 5,000 participants in the English Olympiad. As a native Mandarin speaker, she loves helping students discover a language and culture unfamiliar to them. Approachable, patient, and straightforward, Kate adjusts her pace and style to each student. When she’s not tutoring, you’ll find her hiking, baking, reading, or logging films on Letterboxd! She’s looking forward to working with you!
